POSITION:Â Director, POS & OMS Engineering
DUTIES:Â
The Director of Engineering will help to refine and execute a multi-year software development roadmap that delivers new and optimized retail point of sale capabilities. Specific duties include: Responsible for the planning and execution of strategic Micros xStore Point of Sale Technology initiatives; Own the technology roadmap for the retail point of sale systems and Order Management systems and responsible for delivering successful omnichannel initiatives to optimize these systems; Define and own project planning, budget estimation and management, resource planning, financial planning, and risk assessment; Recruit and retain talent in a high performing engineering product team; Strengthen relationships with key POS vendors to help enable ongoing optimization of the POS platform; Accountable for the successful delivery (on-time, on-budget, w/ highest quality) of the Retail POS Technology and Engineering product and projects; Ensure alignment with the company's standards and procedures for project management, architecture direction, development standards, security requirements, and supportability; Provide team members with an environment of coaching, mentoring, feedback, and staff development; and Work across the IT organization to build strong relationships that foster a team spirit.
REQUIREMENTS:Â Â
Bachelor of science degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field of study, together with Ten (10) years of experience in a related software engineering management position. Previous employment experience must have included: At least five (5) years of experience in engineering solutions for MICROS Point of Sale (POS) systems; At least two (2) years of experience in engineering solutions within the Order Management System (OMS); At least three (3) years of experience with Oracle and SQL Database; At least two (2) years of experience with Java and Javascript; At least two (2) years of experience with leading and managing both onshore and offshore software engineering teams; and At least 1 full implementation involving MICROS or xStore retail point of sale systems.
