DUTIES:Â 

The Director of Engineering will help to refine and execute a multi-year software development roadmap that delivers new and optimized retail point of sale capabilities. Specific duties include: Responsible for the planning and execution of strategic Micros xStore Point of Sale Technology initiatives; Own the technology roadmap for the retail point of sale systems and Order Management systems and responsible for delivering successful omnichannel initiatives to optimize these systems; Define and own project planning, budget estimation and management, resource planning, financial planning, and risk assessment; Recruit and retain talent in a high performing engineering product team; Strengthen relationships with key POS vendors to help enable ongoing optimization of the POS platform; Accountable for the successful delivery (on-time, on-budget, w/ highest quality) of the Retail POS Technology and Engineering product and projects; Ensure alignment with the company's standards and procedures for project management, architecture direction, development standards, security requirements, and supportability; Provide team members with an environment of coaching, mentoring, feedback, and staff development; and Work across the IT organization to build strong relationships that foster a team spirit.

REQUIREMENTS:Â Â 

Bachelor of science degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field of study, together with Ten (10) years of experience in a related software engineering management position.Â  Previous employment experience must have included: At least five (5) years of experience in engineering solutions for MICROS Point of Sale (POS) systems; At least two (2) years of experience in engineering solutions within the Order Management System (OMS); At least three (3) years of experience with Oracle and SQL Database; At least two (2) years of experience with Java and Javascript; At least two (2) years of experience with leading and managing both onshore and offshore software engineering teams; and At least 1 full implementation involving MICROS or xStore retail point of sale systems.

TAX ACCOUNTANTÂ 
**this position is on-site at our Park City corporate office.Â Â As a Tax Accountant, you will oversee the Companyâs sales and use tax compliance, assist the accounting team with month-end close and work on other tax and accounting related projects including federal and state income tax compliance. This role is responsible for performing assigned tax and accounting functions for all of Backcountryâs brands. This role will report to the Senior Director of Tax within the finance and accounting organization.Â 

ABOUT THE JOB:

• Prepare month end tax-related journal entries and reconciliations (sales tax payable, tax related accruals, etc.)

• Manage and prepare sales tax license renewals

• Manage exemption certificates and research one-off exemption requests

• Manage business license renewals and applications for new retail locations

• Respond to various tax notices (sales and use, property, licensing, etc)

• Manage and resolve sales tax audits as they arise

• Manage relationship with and respond to requests from 3rd party providers (Avalara, CCH)

• Maintain tax compliance calendar

• Assist with new product profile creation to ensure proper tax classification

• Prepare property tax accruals and annual returns

• Oversee census & retail trade survey reporting

• Develop internal controls related to areas of responsibility

• Spearhead or assist in other projects as necessary

• Improve or automate processes where possible

ABOUT YOU:
Â 

Four-year college degree or equivalent experience is required

Masterâs degree or CPA preferred

2 to 4 years of Tax or Accounting experience

Understanding of Sales and Use Tax, Income Tax and US GAAP principles â pass-through tax experience a plus

Excellent written (English), verbal (English) and analytical skills; ability to multitask and balance priorities

Ability to meet tight deadlines, while maintaining accuracy of information and attention to detail

Microsoft Excel skills required, experience with SQL and automation of processes a plus

The ability to understand and read financial reports, models, and data is required

Knowledge of and familiarity with NetSuite a plus
